- The IT Services is encouraging staff and
students to make use of the Maltese language support facilities in MS Windows XP to type Maltese
characters (Ċ, ċ, Ġ, ġ, Ħ, ħ, Ż & ż etc.). These language support facilities
do not require the installation of additional fonts.
- All
IT Services workstations are configured so that
users can type the Maltese characters. Staff* and students are encouraged to follow this
guide to configure their office/home
computer systems running MS Windows XP to be able to type the Maltese characters. The
Maltese language support can be enabled on computer systems having MS Windows XP Service
Pack 2.
- The IT Services is also distributing
self-adhesive labels displaying the Maltese characters that may be applied on existing keyboards
in line with Maltese keyboard layout standards set by the
Malta Standards Authority.
- Academic, administrative and technical staff
are invited to collect these labels (free of charge) as indicated below:
