Security Patch for Windows 95/98/NT that fixes the security hole in
Windows exploited by viruses such as the recent Bubbleboy virus.

- The computer lab in Room 208,
Computer Tower Building, is now integrated with other CSC lab facilities. This lab
is available for public terminal access Monday to Friday between 10am and 3pm,
provided that no practical classes are scheduled during these times. Other labs
offering CSC public terminal facilities will be launched during next year.

called 'ZippedFiles' or 'ExploreZip' that is being circulated by e-mail.

- We have an update for F-Secure anti-virus
that caters for this new menace in a folder called 'ExploreZip-update'
on our anti-virus download site. Run this update and follow the instructions
to update your F-Secure application. You will find more information on
how to access our anti-virus site here

- We have updated the F-Secure site
with the latest version. The windows versions also detect the latest 'Melissa'
macro virus. This virus does not work on Macintosh computers.
- The Novell version of F-Secure requires
that the Year 2000
Patch is installed on the Novell server.
- To update the Novell version to
detect the 'Melissa' virus, you must overwrite the fsmacro.def file after
installing. You will find an updated version of this file in fmacro.zip
under the dos directory on our ftp site.
